Choices

I always considered myself to not be a very creative individual, I like art/music/storytelling but have never really been good at creating anything myself.

But even so my mind loves to mull over ideas and concepts munging them all together and seeing what happens.

This is a concept that I have been toying with for a little while now and actually has some substance and direction to it, but I don’t think I could really bring it to life.

The Tangled Web we Weave

As we walk our way through this thing known as life we make choices, day in day out an endless array of choices to be made and paths left un-taken.

Most of the choices we make are fairly benign in nature, and often we don’t even have conscious realisations that we are making a certain choice, what pace to walk at, which side of the road sometimes we think about these things where as others we simply act without giving it much thought.

Not all choices are insignificant though we make up our minds to change things, work towards our own improvement or deprament; Should I take that job? Would they be interested in someone like me? How we tackle these choices can define moments not only in our own lives but in the lives of others as well.

The simple choices seem mundane, they don’t really have an impact on the world; But what if they did? What if one day you made a simple seemingly innocent choice and it completely changed the world?

Can one mans choice make a difference, reshape our very reality without even knowing it and if it did should he fix it?

Like the butterfly, we too have the ability to grow beyond our simple origins and become something of beauty

Night Sky

The skies above us abound in such beautiful wonders to be seen and explored.

Where can our imaginations take us?

Wowsers..

Time really flies.

It wasn’t until I looked at my archive list that I realised that I started this blog back in 2010 in an effort to become slightly more extroverted.

I still think about a lot of different things, mull over events and the direction this world is heading however I still do all my processing / dialogue internally I still haven’t seemed to master the putting it out there thing yet.

Poor blog, it turned 2 and I didn’t even notice!

Hopefully the next few years will be filled with more posts than has taken place previously, I think my trip to Vietnam was the most active I have ever been.  These last few years I have spent a lot of time travelling back to the same place (it helps that it is easy enough to pick up really cheap tickets there) but it became the familiar and the routine for me, I need to spread the wings more and see some new places.

I have made a pact with myself after the thorough enjoyment that my trip to Vietnam brought me and that is to visit at least one new destination each year and in that spirit I have just that booked for this year.

I have already traveled to the USA however it is a rather large country and there is plenty to see there, am hoping to see some more of it when I head over there in April as I tick another year older myself.  I may even rent a car and head into their version of the country side to see what is out there provided I can remember that I need to drive on the wrong side of the road in order to not get in trouble.

After this I have a truly new destination to explore with a trip booked to Tokyo in late July, I suspect that there will be much schoolboy like squeeing upon visiting Akhibara and as much as I am looking forward to that part of the trip, I am really looking forward to seeing some Shinto shrines that are older than my country.

I swear I should be a wandering nomad travelling from place to place trying to learn the mysteries and wonders that this world has to offer us.
